yuk

Have you been to americanapparel.net ?? I went looking for nice blank baby and kid t-shirts to print some designs on, and my eyeballs got all burned out with sleazy photos. I know that the head of that company has that reputation, but ick.

Does anyone know of another company that makes blank kids' shirts and onesies? Organic would be good, but they don't have to be.

new art

I added a bunch of pieces to our art collection this weekend, and I'm so excited! A local young artist, Loren Butchart was having a yard sale on Saturday and I went and bought three pieces, and he gave one extra one to my son (they've traded art before). If you browse through his website, on the paintings, the ones I bought are numbers 16, 21, and this one:

Buying art is so much fun.

vaporizing days

Well, I just learned how to completely and pleasantly obliterate an entire day. It's called web comics. I'm not going to tell you which one I read, because I don't want the same thing to happen to you. It is completely addictive, and the one that I started reading has been going on for three years, so I had to read more than 600 comics! It was fascinating to see the way the author's artwork evolved from working on the comic every day.

that's more like it!

Here's a sweet little mother (or father) and baby bird print. One color on natural colored 80lb. acid and lingin free paper. 5"x8" Signed and numbered edition of 20.

You can find it in my etsy shop.

not successful gocco print

With all of this winter's illnesses, I have not been in the studio much and it's amazing how rusty you can get. This week I am feeling more inspired and I've been drawing and finally working up a new series of prints. My first attempt was not so successful, but I'm going to show it anyway because it's all I've got.

You may notice that it is larger than a normal gocco print, and that's because I was trying something tricky, I used two screens, one oriented vertiacally and one horizontally and I was hoping that I could get them to line up and you wouldn't notice the overlap, but that didn't happen. Registration on a gocco can be pretty difficult! Plus something odd was happening with the ink on my little creatures.

I think that what I'm going to do is draw this little family again, and turn it into a three color screenprint and add a little more to it.

swamp munny

I made this guy for a show at Boomerang Gallery that opens on Saturday. It's called "Show Me The Munny" and it will have around 50 artists who have all customized a toy called a Munny.

This is the one that I made:

He is painted with acrylics, and his hat and cloak are made of a combination of handmade wool felt (the lighter green) and purchased wool felt.

gocco

Someone has a b6 gocco for sale on eBay and it's only .99 right now with one day to go. It's the older box, but I have had one like that before and it's exactly the same as the new one and the inks were still good too.

Spring's Incredible House

3 great iPhotos, originally uploaded by little green.

My wonderful friend Spring has the coolest house ever. It's full of neat stuff, has floor to ceiling bookshelves, a stunning garden, and it's just one of my favorite houses of all time. It's full of art and color .

She just made a little photoset on flickr.

I plan to go and photograph it soon too, because I love shooting interiors. Our friend Jessamyn Harris just took a bunch of photos there too.

(in this photo, you can see two of my paintings sitting on the piano)

studio reorganizing

I'm working on taming the chaos in my studio/office/eBay room. I'm setting it up for hopefully better work flow.

Does anybody have any tips for organizing paper collection, like collage papers, little collections of pretty scraps and bits of paper? I have lots of little bits, including one of these sets of loveliness.I am organizationally challenged, and I really have no idea, because they are all different sizes. A flat box? File folders? What do you do?

I've already set up a shipping center and organized my receipts with the Small Object's awesome downloadable free envelopes!

best of my eBay

I'm trying out this new little feature. This is my favorite dress that I'm offering on eBay right now. It's a 1950's silk dress in a really unusual color with a 4 color floral print It's really nicely finished and has a giant snap on bow at the back!

Starting price is $29, cuz it's so good!

This is another beautiful dress, it's a Banana Republic silk wrap dress with fetching 40's styling. I love the shoulders and cap sleeves. I would have kept this one, but I look funny in wrap dresses.

Hippily Bunny

Quite possibly the best thing on youtube!! Made by a four year old and her daddy.
