taking a small break
small blocks cut and ready for painting on my studio table
close up of a new painting
oh my! Open Studios is just two weeks away now, and I'm freaking out a bit. So much to do, so I'm going to stop posting on and, even more importantly, reading blogs until after Open Studios is over with.
I might post some new paintings here and just pop in and say hi, but I have to get myself off of the computer!

i love your work. i have been so inspired by your work and of course amy ruppel's work, that I have been sketching ideas and have aquired almost all the tools to start encaustic work. I am excited to see what you create! (michelle at buggabu.blogspot.com..i have switched to blogger beta and i cannot sign in..ugh)
Thank you so much for saying that! It means a lot to me. Really a lot.
Encaustic is a lot of fun, and the tools are pretty easy to come by in thrift stores, with the exception of the heat gun. And if you haven't already bought one of those, I'd recommend against the Black and Decker. They're the cheapest, but they break with just normal use. I went through three of them before I got fed up and bought a Makita.
(took me a while to learn!)
Anyways, thanks so much Michelle, I'll come and check out your blog too.
