30dayphoto now over with!
Here again is the link to all of the other folks who participated.
This is what I could see at the Gogol Bordello show that I went to last night. I think that I was the shortest person there!
I made this for a little friend's birthday. Scott named him Gerald. I think he wants one for himself.
This is a gorgeous vintage beaded sweater, made in "The British Crown Colony of Hong Kong". It is wool and mohair and nylon and it is elaborately beaded all over the front with these flowers and vines in pink, blue, yellow and green. They look like sugar. The beads are glass, and are clear on the outside, with a colored core and it makes them look frosty and delicious.
I was sneaking around the Oakland Museum during the field trip, taking pictures of things here and there. Photography may even have been allowed, but I felt kind of weird about it.
The Oakland Museum was great by the way, if you haven't been there, and you're in the Bay Area, you should absolutely check it out. It's divided into three sections, art, science, and history, and all of them were very good!
Waiting for z's dance class to finish, I wandered around the Laguna and took a lot of photos. The weather was beautiful and it was late afternoon, things are budding, and the red winged blackbirds were out in numbers.
Have I abandoned the 30dayphoto project?!? Heavens no! I just couldn't find the time for the photo uploading, tagging, blogging part of the process, but I've still been taking them.
This is Yoda, part of a series of photos of this weird but loveable giant fluffball of a cat who came with our house. He likes to sleep in strange places like on the table or the middle of the kitchen floor. He seems to prefer hard surfaces, maybe because he is already so puffy.
Scott and his family hiking the trail to the stone bench on Mt. Tamalpais in Marin. On Sunday we went out for brunch and on a hike up Mt. Tamalpais. The day could not have been nicer, and the views were breathtaking.
Thank you Johnson family!
View coming up to the top of the ridge on Mt. Tam. My favorite shot from a lovely day full of breathtaking views.
This is what I sent out to my partner in the teacup swap over at http://justmycupoftea.typepad.com. The purple thing in the back is a little journal that I made, the wrapped thing is a surprise, and for tea, I just included what I drink most everyday when I don't have Campbells Perfect Tea on hand. I don't want to say it yet though, because my package is travelling to Norway and is probably not there yet.
The cup and saucer are Ironstone and are from the early 1900's.
I got a pretty cup and saucer in the mail too, and some tea all the way from Maine, but the pottery sadly didn't survive the journey.
Showing both sides is important.
Little My is sledding in the winter time when all creatures are supposed to be sleeping!
This cup makes me so happy. It is a belated Valentine's day gift from Scott, and it arrived yesterday in the mail from Finland. He knows how I love moomintroll, and he had written down somewhere that Little My is my favorite character, so now I have this fabulous Little My cup to drink my tea from.
I love Little My because she reminds me of my daughter, fierce, straightforward, no nonsense, and tiny enough to fit in your pocket, or sleep in your sewing basket.
Two thriftstore bird sculptures on the windowsill. The landlord says that our house will get new paint this Spring, and that it will be green.
Sorry, I fell behind! This is a felt project trying to dry on my clothesline, but it keeps raining and I keep forgetting to bring it inside.
ebay madness
I spent what feels like the whole day photographing clothing and then fixing the #@!#@#$% white balance in photoshop.
This is a detail shot of a vintage sweater shell from a fancy shop in Nairobi of all places. Well, at least the label was fancy, and the sweater is super cute.
I also had a little retail adventure with Spring. My very first time at costco. Wow. I was in search of a Jiffy garment steamer, but they didn't have them. I ended up buying a Rowenta one at a different store. It made the clothes look great.
Here's my day's work on flickr. The thing is, I have five times this much stuff still to list!
